"Pledger" - an individual or business who voluntarily donates funds to support the resolution of an open source issue, ensuring continued innovation and development.
If you’re a developer or a business relying on open source, donating helps ensure the sustainability of the projects you depend on. Supporting these projects encourages more frequent updates, better maintenance, and ultimately contributes to the stability and reliability of your own product.
Absolutely! If you contribute to open source projects, OpenPledge allows you to earn through donations. On our Discover page, you’ll find issues with attached donations—solve them, and you’ll be rewarded for your work.
Companies with digital products often rely heavily on open source projects, many of which are maintained by volunteers. By donating, businesses help ensure the stability of these projects, which directly impacts the reliability and performance of their own products.
Your donation is held in our Stripe account until the issue you pledged to is resolved. Once resolved, the funds are distributed among the contributor who solved the issue, the maintainer who reviewed the code, and a small portion is retained by the platform to cover processing fees.
OpenPledge uses Stripe to securely process donations and manage both the donation and payout transactions.
